I recently had a head-on accident with another cyclist. It was dark, he had no lights, and he was riding against traffic. The collision broke the head tube off my bike and sent me over the bars. I am doing OK, just waiting for my elbows and forearms to fully heal. Both arms took the brunt of the force, although I also hit my head hard enough to get knocked out and have a slight concussion (even with a helmet). The EMTs were able to use my Road ID to call my wife. My Road ID also let them know that I had no other conditions to worry about.
While I always wear it, I am now telling everyone I know that rides or runs that they need to get a Road ID. I am also going to start using the Road ID app as soon as I get back on my bike.
