I was delighted to discover Road ID, not only as a runner, but also as an EMT. Because athletes often train alone, it is extremely important to have a way to inform first responders of your identity in the event of an accident. Among the first things an EMT, or any first responder does with a patient is determine the patient's history. This could include your allergies, medications you're taking, surgeries you've had, and any known medical conditions. Subsequently, having your name, address, and/or phone numbers will help the hospital identify you and contact your family, friend, or doctor.
Ever since I discovered you guys, I have been recommending Road ID to all of my runner friends. I strongly urge anyone to walks, runs, or bikes to wear a Road ID. It could literally save your life.
