Not long ago, I suffered a serious accident while running on a remote trail near my home. I was air lifted out and was a "MYSTERY MAN" on my med-vac ride to the trauma center. This made it hard on those trying to render aid, and to those near and dear to me. Never Again. I now wear ID. Being in good physical conditionis no excuse for ignoring prudent safety measures. We are not bulletproof, and as such, must take reasonable precautions, including carrying identification when training or competing.

P.S. This is bizarre, but true: Almost 6 months to the day of my accident, on the same trail, not less that 1/4 mile from where I went out of service, I was one of the first persons on the scene of someone who needed assistance. The woman eventually was helicoptered out, and guess what ...she didn't have ID either. No one knew who she was.
