Little did I realize that when I order the Road ID I would need it so soon. A few days after receiving my ID, I was 32 miles into a really nice ride, and stopped to take a break. Well, I am still on that break because I had a heart attack on the side of the road that day. When I came to, the medics and doctors started asking questions, I quickly pointed to the Road ID around my neck. Because of the info on my ID, the doctors had everything needed to ensure treatment was as smooth as possible. They were also able to contact my family, who arrived shortly after I awoke from 4-way bypass surgery.
I don't know what prompted to purchase a Road ID, but I am sure glad I did. I will never leave home without it.
