I rode 2,300 miles last year and was involved in one serious incident which motivated me to purchase a Road ID.I was out for a ride in the early morning hours when a pick up truck forced me off the road. I was wearing a yellow florescent road vest with two flashing red lights - I couldn't have been missed! As the truck swerved and continued down the road, I could feel the wind off the passenger side mirror as it narrowly miss me.
A passing motorist stopped and offered assistance, and for that I was grateful. However, it was a tremendous wake-up call, in that after retiring with over 20 years in the Army and 15 more as an Army Civilian, to be that close to danger was sobering; hence, my desire to get a Road ID - thank you!
