My friend and I were out for a ride just a 1/4 mile from my house. Out of nowhere, I was hit by a woman pulling out of a large business lot on her way home from work. I can't exactly say how it happened, as I have no memory of anything prior to the Emergency Room. I ended up with a concussion, nasal fracture, missing front tooth, facial lacerations, a rib fracture, and 4 minor lumbar fractures. I spent 2 nights in the hospital, lost a month of work, and had 8 months of dental work. But I am completely healed with the exception of some minor lip scarring.
The paramedics used my Road ID to call my husband and daughter who rushed down just in time to see the ambulance pull away. The paramedics commented to my friend how nice it was that I was wearing a Road ID. I wear it quite often.
Although I always THOUGHT I was very cautious before, I am EXTREMELY cautious now.
Thanks again for the help.
