Here is the weird part: I always had my Road ID with me when I was out on my bike, but 99% of the time, I had it around my steer tube. My logic was that if I was in a crash, my bike would be with me and people would see it. Well, the day I got hit for some reason, I put the bracelet on my wrist. I don't know what compelled me to do that, except God. When the crash happened, my bike was NOT with me. It was "over there" and I was "over here."
Update: My bike is still going to wear my original Road ID, but I will be wearing my new Road ID on my wrist from this day forward. What is even cooler is this...yesterday I was in my LBS to pick up my new bicycle. (Yes, I am going to keep riding.) A couple was sitting in there talking to the owner and he said, "there she is." It was the couple who had witnessed the accident and used my Road ID to make the calls on my behalf! They told me exactly how it all happened and they could not believe I was up and walking around. All I could do was grab them and hug them, thanking them for stopping to help!! Can you imagine?!
