Last July I was involved in a serious bicycle accident, where I was rendered unconscious. I was hit by a pick-up truck on a busy highway and flown to a nearby hospital. Thank goodness I was wearing a helmet and a Road ID or I may not be here today. The paramedics and doctors who treated me accessed my Road ID account - numerous times - and got all the medical information they needed. This information helped them do their jobs...helped them save my life.
I was in the hospital for over a month recovering from the severe head injuries. I'm slowly getting better, but still having to adjust. I don't know yet when I'll return to bicycle riding, and my wife would rather I stay off Texas roads...but I can still go play with the rattlesnakes on my mountain bike when I'm ready! Either way, you can bet I'll be wearing my Road ID.
