I was totally unconscious from a bike crash. My Road ID enabled the paramedics to call my wife from the accident scene. As a result, my wife was able to get to the hospital even before I got there. This gave her the opportunity to go over important aspects of my personal history with the medical staff.My helmet saved my life that day, or at least, prevented serious brain/head injury. It was my Road ID, however, that let them know who I was and how to contact my family.
I can say, without hesitation, that we all need to be safety conscious when out here on the roads. I am now more safety conscious than I was then.
