I just wanted to say thank you. I had a catastrophic accident on September 18th ... while riding the highest paved road in North America, high winds blew me over a cliff on Mount Evans. I fell 30 ft., landing on granite boulders. Fortunately, as I wasn't visible from the road, I regained consciousness andwas able to cry for help, and was eventually found by a Swiss cyclist heading up the mountain. Thanks to my Road ID, I had my complex medical history available to all personnel, as well as contact info for my primary physician, family, and my boyfriend.
Ultimately, I shattered my rib cage, had 9 spinal fractures, a shattered scapula, both lungs were punctured, a grade IV kidney laceration, and a grade III spleen laceration. I was in ICU 10 days, and hospitalized for nearly a month.
I can now walk and play my keyboard again. I am even riding again as well.
Thanks!
