I had the unpleasant experience of running the Boston marathon this year in the 90 degree heat. Unfortunately, at mile 12, the heat got the best of me and I could not stay sufficiently hydrated. I immediately checked myself in to a medical tent. The first thing the doctor did after hooking me up to an IV was remove my Road ID. Heimmediately called my wife, who was waiting for me at mile 16. He explained to her what happened and told her how to find me. As it turned out, I was being taken to a nearby hospital. Everything ended well thanks to my Road ID. It is a great tool. I coach a 10k program for our local running club, and it will definitely be on our agenda at orientation this summer.
