To all my fellow riders, I give you this piece of advise! Advertise! Advertise! Advertise! Let the world know who you are when you are out there participating in a sports activity. I have been an operating room nurse for more years then I care to say; and I can't tell you how many Jane and John Doe's I have had to deal with over the years. More important then that is the fact that we cannot find family to give consent for procedures, and waste too much time with Administrative Nonsense when time is of the essence! You need to have some form of ID on you at all times. Please identify yourself, your children and all those who mean the world to you. The Road ID is the BEST IDEA I have seen. I wear the ANKLE ID. It says it all in a concise and easy to read manner.
Today I joined one hundred other riders in the SunCoast bike fest and very few of the participants had any obvious ID. Let's see if by next year, along with helmets, wearing ID will be a mandatory thing. Safe riding to you all.
