My Road ID was essential in contacting my family

I was recently involved in a cycling accident while descending a mountain near my home. I am unsure as to what happened, but I believe the crash was caused by a deer that ran out in front of me. From the moment of the crash until about two hours later, I have no memory of what happened.
I was recently involved in a cycling accident while descending a mountain near my home. I am unsure as to what happened, but I believe the crash was caused by a deer that ran out in front of me. From the moment of the crash until about two hours later, I have no memory of what happened. Sitting on the side of the road, extremely disoriented, a motorist stopped to help me, and I was taken to a local hospital. I suffered a concussion, broken nose, various road rashes and bruising, and a chipped front tooth.

I am very thankful for my Road ID. The sun was setting and I had not arrived home yet, so my family was extremely worried. I was in a questionable mental state, unable to relay my emergency contact information, but my Road ID did that for me!

The hospital employees explicitly stated that my helmet saved my life, and that my Road ID was essential in quickly identifying me and contacting my family. My family was at the hospital by my side before I was even awake. I am happy to say that I am well on my way to a healthy recovery.

I was hoping I would never need my Road ID, but I'm glad I was wearing it that day!
