I was riding my moped to the gym at 4:40am, on a pitch black road, going about 22mph. I heard a sound and something made me look up. I will never forget what I saw. It was a huge deer trying to jump over me! My eye caught the deer's eye and then everything went dark. Thank goodness, I had all the riding gear you can get, from helmet, padded clothes etc. I figured I must have hit the deer's mid section and I went flying because next thing I knew was I was flat on my back. When my scooter went flying, the head lamp shone into a house where a man had just gotten home from a night job. He and another man were soon by my side trying to comfort me and letting me know that help was on the way. When the ambulance arrived I told them take my Road ID off and that it had all my information on it. My road ID was a life saver. I ended up with 5 broken ribs and a few nights in the hospital.
